Membership

You, the member-owners of Teacher Federal Credit Union, make the credit union unique. TFCU exists to serve your financial needs. We are a financial cooperative — you join the credit union with an initial deposit of $10, called a "share" — making you an owner of the credit union. We are a not-for-profit organization, meaning that we distribute our excess earnings back to you in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and lower service fees.

We invite you to join today. Become a member and an owner!

Family Membership
As an added feature of credit union membership, your family members are invited to join TFCU. It's a wonderful benefit to share with those closest to you!

Family members include spouse, children/step-children, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Also included are household members of current TFCU members, defined as "any person who is a permanent member of and participates in the maintenance of the household and contemplates or intends some permanency."

Lifetime Membership
TFCU adheres to the credit union axiom: Once a member, always a member. Even if you retire, change employers or move out of state, you can still maintain your TFCU membership.

Traditional or Automated Service
Whether you want to do your transactions in person or using our many automated services, we've got you covered. Are you more likely to use online banking and ATMs than waiting in the teller line? Sign up for our Automated Service account.

Important Information
About Procedures For Opening A New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
